Selecting a campaign draws its documented journey (from real letter-to-letter transitions) and highlights its milestone places. This never hides the other places on the map — it's a highlight, not a filter.

From day_index_pipeline's own research pass, not a letter-density guess: each period requires an independent, sourced, single-location consensus (a garrison posting, an institutional enrollment, a confinement) — a moving/marching stretch is explicitly excluded regardless of how tempting the gap-filling looks. Probable, not documented day-by-day — see each period's own rationale.

77 controlled-vocabulary tags across People, Events, and Themes. Selecting tags restricts the map to places with at least one matching letter — a filter, not a highlight. Multiple tags in the same group are OR'd together; across groups, it's AND (e.g. Davout OR Berthier, AND Peninsular War).
